Instructor Biography
Kevin Shive
Chaplain Kevin Shive has served in Hillside Community Church in Golden, Colorado, since 2001 and has held the position of lead pastor since 2021. In addition to his pastoral leadership, he has been a devoted servant to the emergency responder community for nearly two decades. Chaplain Shive has served as the lead chaplain for the Golden Police Department since 2007 and for the Golden Fire Department since 2023. Since 2014, he has also provided chaplain support to the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Denver, Colorado, Office. Chaplain Shive is the founder and executive director of the Rocky Mountain Police & Fire Chaplains, a national network that trains, equips, and supports chaplains serving first responders across the United States. Chaplain Shive’s broader impact includes consulting for national organizations such as Promise Keepers, Youth Specialties, and Maximum Impact. He also has served as an owner, facilitator, and associate director of the DCLA (Washington, DC/Los Angeles) Youth Training and Leadership events, which reach thousands of young leaders domestically and internationally. Chaplain Shive co-founded AutismTodayNow.com, a training and consultation organization dedicated to providing educational awareness, practical skills, and tools for compassionate response to individuals with autism. Through this initiative, he has trained more than 200 officers as part of the Jefferson County, Colorado, Sheriff’s Office Crisis Intervention Team program. Chaplain Shive earned a bachelor’s degree in business from Colorado Christian University.
