Instructor Biography
Timothy Whitcomb
Sheriff Timothy Whitcomb is a law enforcement professional with over 30 years of experience. Since 1991, he has served with the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office in
Little Valley, New York. Prior to being sheriff, he held positions as undersheriff, administrative lieutenant, detective-sergeant, and deputy sheriff/Drug Abuse Resistance Education officer. Sheriff Whitcomb has received numerous awards and recognitions for his service, including the Blue and Gold Service Award, the 2009 Leadership Cattaraugus Alumnus of the Year award, and five sheriff’s officer commendations. He was also recognized for his response to “Ground Zero” post-9/11 terrorist attack. Sheriff Whitcomb serves as adjunct instructor at Jamestown Community College. Sheriff Whitcomb received a master of science degree in counselor education from St. Bonaventure University and a bachelor of science degree in community and human relations with a concentration in criminal justice from Empire State College.
